2nd Edition
Khelo India Winter Games, 2021 The 2nd edition of Khelo India Winter Games was successfully held in the picturesque town of Gulmarg from 26th February to 2nd March 2021. With the participation of 1208 athletes from across the country competing in 11 sports disciplines, the event showcased remarkable talent and enthusiasm. Jammu & Kashmir excelled once again, clinching the top spot in the medal tally with 18 Gold, 5 Silver, and 34 Bronze medals. The competition featured thrilling disciplines such as Alpine Skiing, Nordic Ski, Snowboarding, Ski Mountaineering, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Ice Stock, and Snow Shoe. The event was inaugurated virtually by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, underscoring its national importance. This edition further solidified Gulmarg’s reputation as India’s premier winter sports destination.
3rd Edition
Khelo India Winter Games, 2023 After being postponed in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3rd edition of the Khelo India Winter Games was successfully conducted in Gulmarg from 10th to 14th February 2023. This edition saw an impressive participation of 1395 athletes from across the country competing in 11 sports disciplines, including exhibitory games. Jammu & Kashmir once again showcased its dominance by topping the medal tally with 26 Gold, 25 Silver, and 25 Bronze medals. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, accompanied by senior officials from the sports council and tourism department. Athletes from various states, Union Territories, and local teams competed in a variety of snow and ice sports, making this edition a grand celebration of sportsmanship and skill amidst Gulmarg’s stunning winter landscape.
4th Edition
Khelo India Winter Games, 2024 The 4th Edition of the Khelo India Winter Games was successfully held in the snow-clad paradise of Gulmarg, Kashmir from 21st to 25th February 2024. This edition saw participation from 800 athletes representing 20 States and Union Territories, competing in thrilling snow sports disciplines such as Alpine Skiing, Nordic Ski, Snowboarding, and Ski Mountaineering. Jammu & Kashmir showcased its resilience, securing 1 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Lieutenant Governor of J&K , alongside senior officials from the sports council and tourism department, marking the grandeur of the occasion. With athletes from across the nation competing against the stunning backdrop of Gulmarg, this edition reaffirmed the region’s reputation as India’s premier winter sports destination.
